NHL Rumors 8-24-09

Hello Hockey fans, this is the first post from the newest and hottest NHL rumor site on the web.

If you need to know about HockeyBS's rumor rating chart check out the last post... here we go -

Mario Lemieux coming out of retirement but not for the Penguins! (BS1) - One source inside the New York Rangers organization has told me that none other than the great Hall of Famer Mario Lemieux is coming out of retirement, to play for the New York Rangers! One has to wonder about the legalities of an NHL owner playing for another franchise but if any GM can make it happen its Glen Sather who reportedly has long been trying to get No 66 in on Broadway to bring some legitemacy back to the Rangers. This source told me that Sather said "The Rangers organization has made it tradition to get superstars at the end of their careers and Mario is one legacy the Rangers have been unable to tarnish until now."

Interesting words from the Intrepid GM.

There has been no comment from the Stanley Cup Champions on this matter.

Alex Tanguay to make his decision before the NHL season begins (BS4) - Why this is by no means a sure thing, you can bet that talented left winger Alex Tanguay will make up his mind some time before the season begins later this year. He has had multiple contract offers from teams like - The Lightning, Islanders, Coyotes, Flames, Avalanche, Bruins, Rangers, Devils, Blackhawks, Red Wings and a few more that cannot be substantiated to this point.

Sooner or later one would think Tanguay will make up his mind especially before the season begins.

Thats all I have for now stay tuned as more rumors are bound to pop up.
